Personnel changes are common HR occurrences, employees move across departments and managers change. To begin, admins will have to identify which of the following type of change it is:
- Change employment
Changing employment refers to the employee moving across the organisation into a new position.
- E.g. Employee A, a digital marketing associate, has a role change and is now a business development representative.
- Transfer position
Transfering position refers to the movement of a role between or within organisations, retaining their job title and job bands. The employee along with the position are moved to a different organisation.
- E.g. Employee A, a digital marketing associate in the sales department has been transferred to the business department continuing in the same position.
Now that you have identified the type of changes you would like to make, read on for the steps on making the changes.
To change employment, go to People > Employee > click on "Actions" for selected employee > View Profile > select "Employment Info" > click "Actions" > select "Change Employment".
*Before changing employment please ensure that the desired position exists in the system and is vacant. To create a vacant position, please read How do I create a vacancy in altHR?
To transfer position, go to People > Employee > click on "Actions" for selected employee > View Profile > select "Employment Info" > click "Actions" > select "Transfer Position".
*If an employee is an organisation head, it is not possible to transfer their position away as it is tied to the organisation. Please use change employment instead.
